Generating a VPAT / ACR

Export a professional Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT 2.4) or Accessibility Conformance Report in Word format.

What is a VPAT?

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a standardized document that describes how a product or service conforms to accessibility standards. When completed, it becomes an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR).

VPATs are required by many government agencies, enterprises, and educational institutions as part of procurement. ConformPilot generates VPAT 2.4 — the current standard — covering WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and EN 301 549.

How to Generate a VPAT

  1. 1

    Complete an Audit

Run a browser audit, site crawl, or authenticated audit on your product. The VPAT is generated from your audit results, so a thorough scan produces a more accurate report.

  2. 2

    Open the Export Panel

From your audit results page, click Export in the top-right toolbar, then select VPAT / ACR (Word).

  3. 3

    Fill in Product Details

Enter your product name, version, vendor name, contact email, and evaluation date. These appear in the VPAT header.

  4. 4

    Select Standards

Choose which standards to include: WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and/or EN 301 549. ConformPilot maps your violations to each criterion automatically.

  5. 5

    Download the VPAT

Click Generate VPAT. A .docx file is downloaded to your computer. Open it in Microsoft Word or Google Docs to review and customize before sharing.

What's Included in the VPAT

  • Product name, version, vendor, and evaluation date
  • Conformance level for each WCAG success criterion (Supports / Partially Supports / Does Not Support / Not Applicable)
  • Remarks column populated from your audit violations
  • Section 508 functional performance criteria table
  • EN 301 549 chapter mapping (if selected)
  • Evaluation methodology section
  • Legal disclaimer and contact information

💡 Tip: Review Before Sharing

The auto-generated VPAT is a starting point. Always review the Remarks column and adjust conformance levels based on your full manual testing. Automated tools catch ~30–40% of issues — supplement with keyboard and screen reader testing for a complete picture.
